Sequential Compression Devices

Sequential Compression Devices (SCDs) are used to help prevent DVT (deep vein thrombosis or blood clot) following surgery. They are soft "sleeves" that wrap around the calves of both legs and inflate intermittently. This improves blood flow in legs and helps prevent a clot. They should be worn any time you are sitting or lying down. SCDs should be removed when walking.
